This is a compilation of various stories, some which one may have already been read and some that are new. The story quality is good and the writing very good.This "Gazette" is a stroke of genius in that it lets you see the world of the 1630's from many viewpoints, just as if you were there and collecting stories from the people involved. Not all the characters are admirable; in fact some of them are classic "Good Ol' Boys" (clueless) who act and sound like people from a small town who've made good. By collecting these stories, the 1632 universe is deepened and broadened.

Another great addition to the 1632 "Ring of Fire" book series. The stories from the Grantville Gazette were very enjoyable reading.

I love this series all of the books are great.
Multiple authors makes a single review difficult. If you are a fan of the Ring of Fire series this is a must read but it is not for someone unfamiliar with the series. On the whole the authors are good but not at the Eric Flint level but who else is.
This is another good 1632 anthology, good stories that are well written.
It's difficult to rank the "author's writing" since this is a collection of short stories set in Eric Flint's alternate world line. However that said, all of the authors who's stories were included herein have passed the muster by having been chosen are representing the best of the ones published in the Grantville Gazette e-zine.
The various authors continue to do an excellent job developing characters and themes in this shared universe. Great job of editing to make sure the stories fit in the timelines and support the overall main line of action in the 1632 Universe. These side stories help fill out the background of the culture and events that make up the world view. Just like real life, there are always many stories, great and small, that are continuing outside the main action line. Some directly affect the 1832 main line, others will continue to fill in the gaps. While no short story can do justice to a multiplex universe, these definitely address issues that are well thought out and entertaining. I love the series and the Gazette, both the e-books and the written books. I highly recommend them. While the stories here could be taken and read as a first introduction to the series, I would hope the new reader would start off with 1632 and start working through all of the main line as well as the Grantville Gazette issues.
